Mysore sightseeing works best when central heritage, Chamundi Hill and outer attractions are treated as separate route segments across an overnight stay.
Opening hours, local restrictions and weather can change. The final written itinerary is adjusted to your arrival time, hotel location, traveller ages and current operating conditions.
Central heritage cluster
Begin with Mysore Palace and a limited selection of nearby heritage, market or museum stops. Parking, queues and meal breaks need space in the day.
- Mysore Palace.
- Devaraja Market or a selected museum.
- St Philomena’s Cathedral where suitable.
Chamundi and outer route
Chamundi Hill requires a separate approach. Brindavan Gardens lies outside the central city and should be added only when the evening schedule allows.
- Use an early start for Chamundi Hill.
- Do not combine every museum with an outer garden route.
- Check departure timing before adding a final stop.
